You can acquire extra combat boosts through the statue in the center of the city. To get these boosts, there is a two step process. First you need to Activate a Tome (with Holy dust). The second step is to Craft an Artifact, which requires Lake Gravel and Enchanted Mist (higher levels require mist).

There are 4 types of artifacts. One has Troop Attack, Health, and Defense benefits, and other 3 are for each troop type.The Artifacts are placed in 8 slots. You may place two of each artifact type per slot. Note that you only need to Activate one Tome of each.

To activate a green, blue or purple Tome, you need 5, 25, or 100 Holy Dust.

Crafting artifacts requires Lake gravel. Green requires 100 Lake Gravel, blue requires 600 Lake Gravel, purple requires 1500 Lake Gravel and also 200 Enchanted Mist.

There is a Lucky Shot field where you can find Lake Gravel, Enchanted Mist and Holy Dust as rewards.In the Goods Exchange, there is a section to request Lake Gravel and Enchanted Mist.In the Spire Loot you can buy daily Holy Dust and Small Artifact Materials Chests.
